The Treasurer is a statutory Principal Officer of Mir Chakar Khan Rind University of Technology (MCKRUT), Dera Ghazi Khan, responsible for managing the financial assets, annual budgets, investments, and overall fiscal integrity of the institution. As the chief financial officer of the University, the Treasurer manages institutional finances, ensures compliance with statutory financial regulations, and serves as the Secretary to the Finance and Planning Committee (F&PC).
The Office of the Treasurer works in close coordination with provincial and federal funding agencies, external auditors, government departments, and university stakeholders. Its core mandate is to ensure optimal utilization of university funds, facilitate transparent procurement processes, streamline fee collections, and maintain accurate accounting systems to support academic and infrastructural development.
Preparing annual recurring and development budgets, managing budget allocations, and presenting fiscal proposals before the Finance and Planning Committee and Syndicate.
Maintaining official books of accounts, preparing annual financial statements, and ensuring transparent financial record-keeping according to public sector standards.
Processing monthly salaries, allowances, provident funds, pensions, honorariums, and TA/DA claims for teaching and administrative staff.
Overseeing student fee collection, managing bank accounts, reconciliation of university revenues, and issuing financial clearances.
Ensuring public procurement processes follow PPRA rules, managing equipment purchases, tender processing, and inventory maintenance.
Facilitating resident, internal, and government external audit teams, managing audit observations, and maintaining financial discipline.
Disbursing financial aid, government scholarships (EHSAAS/HEC/Provincial), and research grants to eligible students and faculty members.
